What Are Gerbs?
The Gerbs are a legacy collection of 4,444 digital gerbils that exist on the blockchain with the sole purpose of making the world a better place. Gerbs always stick together, radiate positivity, and are constantly on the lookout for ways to help others.
Why get a Gerb?
The Gerbs community is all about giving back and helping one another. When you get a Gerb, you’re not only keeping the legacy alive, but also directly contributing to the funding of mental health charities (more on that later!) as well as making a vow to never leave a fellow Gerb behind. Once a Gerb, always a Gerb!
How Rare is my Gerb?
Every Gerb is unique, which makes each one super special! However, some Gerbs are more rare than others. It all depends on what color they are, the items they’re wearing, and which background they’re placed on.

NFT stands for “non-fungible token". A non-fungible token is a unique digital item that can be bought, sold, or traded and is stored and encrypted on the blockchain. Some NFTs are a simple piece of digital art, while others have a variety of utility. NFT's can be treated like membership cards where holders get exclusive access to things like websites, events, merchandise, and more!

Those on the allowlist will be able to mint up to 4 Gerbs per wallet during the pre-sale.
1. Sign up for a Metamask or Coinbase Wallet and download the extension on your internet browser.
2. Make sure you have enough Ethereum in your wallet to cover the total cost - including gas fees.
3. On mint day, there will be a connect button at the top of our website to link your wallet.
4. Click on the mint button and you will be prompted to sign for your transaction. There will be a fee associated with every transaction related to gas prices.
5. Once you have made your purchase, your Gerb(s) will appear in your wallet and on Opensea!
The Back Story
We founded the Gerb project as a tribute to our late father, Richie Lewis. Richie was a college baseball hall-of-famer and MLB pitcher who defied all odds within the athletic community and made a career as a pitcher at just 5’6” tall. Unfortunately, his baseball career ended due to injuries he sustained while playing in the MLB – some of which included concussions. In the wake of his injuries, when he was no longer able to play baseball, our dad developed severe depression and anxiety that progressed in the years following his retirement. His mental health battle raged for more than two decades, and eventually came to an end in December of 2021. To honor his life, we’ve dedicated this project to those who are battling depression, anxiety, or suicidal thoughts. The Gerbs community is committed to doing everything in its power to fund, facilitate, or provide resources in order to impact as many lives as possible.

Why "Gerbs"?
Growing up, we had an affinity for creating funny nicknames for members of our family. One day, our dad decided to prank our mom by shaving his hair into a rat tail mullet (don’t ask). When we saw our dad’s haircut, we burst out laughing and immediately started teasing him, saying that it looked like he had a gerbil tail on the back of his head. From those teasing remarks spawned the nickname, “Gerb”, which stuck with our dad for both close friends and family from that day on. It seemed only fitting that a project in honor of him should have some tie to that nickname, and thus, the Gerbs were born.
Why 4,444 Gerbs?
Pretty much all of us have a lucky number of sorts. It’s the number you choose for your jersey, your phone password, a lottery ticket, etc. In this case, the number 4 is meaningful to the Gerb project because it was our dad’s favorite number, and one that he wore proudly on all of his jerseys in some capacity or another.
Gerb Traits
Each Gerb is totally unique, and includes at least one personal element about Richie’s life. Whether it’s his signature in the background, a replica of his first baseball jersey, or the crazy sunglasses he loved to wear, every single Gerb will carry Richie’s legacy onto the blockchain where his story can live on forever.
